Inspiration Series: The Concept

Everyone's clamoring for updates! I promised to post pictures and write about my inspirations for this wedding. Hmmmm...I'll write about them one post at a time, so you'll come back for more. hehehe! Let's call this the Inspiration Series.

Ever since I can recall, I wanted a grand wedding. I wanted all the works: black tie affair, horse-drawn carriage, ballgowns, orchestra, prince charming whisking me away to happily ever after. But as I grew older I learned that there are some things in life you can do without. I'd settle for a string quartet instead of the whole orchestra, a sturdy leather boots instead of a very delicate glass slipper, or just a plain sedan instead of a horse-drawn carriage. Of course, Prince Charming whisking me away to happily ever after is a non-negotiable must-have. After all everybody deserves their own happily ever after, right?

your ride to a happily ever after

To help me in conceptualizing the "grand" wedding that I wanted, I went to the person whom I know can make all my wedding dreams come true: Annie Lim. She did a fab, fab, fab job in my 18th birthday way back in 2001. I know she will make my wedding even more fabulous and memorable not just for me but for everyone who will be there. She's a premiere wedding coordinator here in Davao. In fact, all my suppliers were glad she was doing my wedding; "hassle-free" as they put it. And I've experienced that first-hand. :)

Annie Paz Lim, my angel/superwoman

When Rommel and I went to see Tita Annie, we already had a concept in mind: the romance and elegance of the Victorian Era. Of course I wouldn't wear the traditional wedding gown with its long sleeves and tight, tight, tight corsets. But it would have all the elements of the Victorian era: laces, bows, ruffles and petticoats. Flowers, tea, petit fours, pearls, orange blossoms and candles and dances. I don't want to divulge more information. I know you get the picture already. And I know you're as excited as I am to see all of this come to life. :)

Inspiration board :)
